Abstract: We propose experimental method about the measurement of magnetic line of force velocity in
free space. According to Faradays law of induction the velocity of the magnetic lines can be measured by
magnetic dipole antenna and it is orthogonal to the electromagnetic wave vector direction. Experimental
results show that induction velocity is 10 times faster than light in Z axis direction. Theoretical analysis
based on finite element method ( FEM) is good agreement with the experimental results. This experiment
will contribute to a better understanding of the Maxwell equations and provide a novel way to understand-
ing superluminal phase velocity and the group velocity from classical electromagnetism view.
